Join us on Wednesday, March 11, for a Soaring Together webinar with Rebecca Merola ’06 M.Ee.’08.
Merola’s path to business ownership is a firsthand look at how professional experiences in corporate environments can be repurposed for entrepreneurial success. A triple-graduate of Lehigh University, she spent over a decade navigating the complexities of corporate America. She discovered that her experiences in technical problem-solving and corporate operations provided a natural bridge to business ownership through franchising.
Now a successful entrepreneur in Pennsylvania, Merola joins us to share the insights gained from her transition and how fellow alumni can leverage their own professional history to build a legacy in the franchise world.

Rebecca Merola is the owner of The Designery Quakertown, a full-service design, sourcing, and installation company specializing in kitchens, baths, and closets. She is passionate about helping people reimagine their space and taking the stress out of home renovation.
Merola’s path to small business ownership in an interior design field was not linear. After graduation from college, she worked for Lutron Electronics as a product design engineer. Her 15-year career gave her experience in design, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain management. It also took her to a couple of remote assignments, including manufacturing engineering and quality manager in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico, and plant manager near Richmond, Virginia.
After returning to Pennsylvania, Merola was looking for a change and was presented the opportunity for business ownership through franchising. She was able to merge her corporate experience with a love of organization with The Designery Quakertown.
Merola earned three degrees from Lehigh University: a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2006, followed by a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2008. While attending Lehigh, she met her husband, Ted Fisher, and they decided to settle in Pennsylvania after graduation. She is the proud mother of two boys, Oliver (11) and Benjamin (6).
